Product Description
Printing wear-resistant varnish, printing matte varnish, offset water-based varnish, surface coating varnish, anti-slip wear-resistant varnish, anti-glare matte varnish, color box varnish
Printing wear-resistant varnish and matte varnish are professional surface coating materials specially designed for offset printing. They are applicable to in-line coating, tail-coating, off-line coating and gravure coating for offset presses. The wear-resistant varnish forms a high-gloss, highly transparent coating with excellent scratch and friction resistance. The matte varnish creates a premium anti-glare matte finish with low surface gloss. Featuring eco-friendly and odorless formula, excellent leveling performance and strong adhesion, these varnishes can effectively replace traditional lamination processes, upgrading the surface texture and protective performance of printed products. They are widely used for the printing of color boxes, picture albums, labels and various packaging paper products.
Core Product Features
1. Superior Protective Performance, Wear & Scratch Resistant
The cured coating features tough and durable film formation, which effectively prevents ink fading, fingerprint adhesion and surface smudging. It greatly reduces surface abrasion of printed products during transportation and stacking.
2. Two Distinct Premium Finishes
Wear-resistant varnish delivers high gloss, brightens colors and improves picture saturation. Matte varnish provides soft anti-glare effect without reflection, presenting a high-end frosted matte texture.
3. Excellent Machine Compatibility & Stable Printing Performance
Boasts outstanding leveling capacity with no shrinkage cavities or orange peel defects. It causes no foaming, roller clogging or ink accumulation on coating blankets during operation. With stable water-ink balance, it perfectly adapts to in-line coating of various offset printing equipment.
4. Strong Adhesion & Wide Substrate Adaptability
Compatible with coated paper, white cardboard and special printing paper. It bonds firmly with the surface of printing ink layers without ink peeling or delamination.
5. Eco-Friendly & Cost-Effective, Lamination Replacement
Adopts low-VOC, non-toxic and odorless eco-friendly formula. With simple processing procedures, it can directly replace plastic lamination, effectively simplifying production steps and reducing material costs.
6. Fast Drying & Suitable for Mass Production
It achieves rapid curing via hot air drying. Coated products can be stacked directly without back adhesion or page sticking, fully meeting the requirements of high-speed and large-batch printing production.
How to choose:
1. Choose wear-resistant varnish for high-gloss brightening, strong surface protection and packaging wear resistance requirements.
2. Choose matte varnish for anti-glare effect, high-end frosted texture and low-key matte finish of picture albums and cultural and creative products.
3. Select high-flow fast-drying type for high-speed mass production; adopt standard general type for low-speed small-batch production.
4. Prioritize low-VOC eco-friendly type for export environmental orders to meet industry testing standards.
How to use:
1. Stir thoroughly after opening. No dilution is required, and it can be directly coated on machines under normal working conditions.
2. Adjust the pressure of coating roller and coating thickness, and control drying temperature to ensure uniform film thickness.
3. Support in-line offset coating, which can be coated immediately after printing to realize one-step forming.
4. Clean coating rollers with clean water after operation to prevent dirt and residue from drying and caking.
5. Seal and store at room temperature away from light, high temperature and open flames.

Q1: How to improve poor wear resistance after varnish coating?
Appropriately increase the coating thickness and raise the curing temperature. Ensure the underlying ink is completely dried before coating to avoid affecting the wear resistance of the varnish film.
Q2: How to solve uneven gloss and partial bright spots after matte varnish coating?
Stir fully before use, and stabilize machine speed and coating pressure to avoid uneven coating thickness, so as to eliminate inconsistent gloss problems.
Q3: What causes shrinkage cavities, pinholes and orange peel defects after coating?
These defects are mainly caused by dust and impurities on paper substrates, dirty rollers or excessive environmental humidity. Clean the equipment and paper materials and avoid production in humid environments for improvement.
Q4: How to solve stacking smudging and back adhesion of coated products?
Raise the drying temperature and reduce machine speed to ensure complete film curing. Control the coating dosage to avoid excessive film accumulation.
Q5: Can varnish be coated immediately after ink printing?
In-line synchronous coating is supported. For patterns with thick ink layers, proper air-drying is recommended before coating to improve adhesion and film-forming effect.
Q6: Can the two varnishes be mixed for use?
Mixing is not recommended. Mixed use will damage the film-forming structure, resulting in disordered gloss, reduced wear resistance and film whitening problems.
Q7: Can the varnish completely replace the lamination process?
It can fully replace lamination for conventional color box and picture album printing. For scenarios with severe friction or outdoor use, lamination is recommended for double-layer protection.
